December l0, l9l4Last spring DELBERT SMITH, living southwest
of Garden Grove happened to
catch a young turkey buzzard in his feed lot
and he took a turkey bell
with his name and fastened it to the bird.
Recently MR. SMITH received
the following letter from a man in Oklahoma,
the bird having been
noticed there by the bell on it.Owassa, Okla., Nov. ll--MR. DELBERT SMITH,
Garden Grove, Ia.,Dear Sir: Along about the 23rd of October I
noticed about 25 buzzards
flying about the hog lot so got my gun and
went down where they were and
I heard one of them had a bell on it so I
shot it and on the bell I
found your name and address, so thought I
would write and find out when
and what year you belled the bird. It must
have had this bell on its
neck quite a good while. Now please write
all about it as I am anxious
to know.Yours truly,
GUST ANDERSON.-------------------------------------------------------------------
