Thomas TEALE came down Tuesday from Leon.

Mrs. T. J. SMITH returned home Tuesday from Leon.

Z. H. GURLEY was in Leon Monday and Tuesday on business.

Mr. John HATCHER returned Thursday from his trip to Kansas.

Mrs. J. J. BLACK and Mrs. H. L. FERGUSON were in Leon the forepart of the
week.

Mrs. W. I. VANDERVLUGT returned Saturday from a short visit at Blythedale,
Missouri.

D. H. BLAIR and wife came up Saturday from St. Joseph, Missouri, to make
relatives a visit.

Mrs. James BLACK went Monday to Persia, Iowa, where Mr. BLACK is engaged in
the livery business.

Mrs. James ALLEN and Mrs. Thomas LOACH returned home Thursday from Hiteman,
Iowa, having closed their visit there. Mrs. LOACH is in very poor health.

Mr. Frank GREENE of Tallula, Illinois, came Saturday to take his nephew and
niece, Frank and Elsa GREENE home on a visit with him. They went Monday and
will remain for several weeks.

Homer A. DYE returned home from Kansas to near Leon, where his family are
visiting on Wednesday last. On account of sickness of his little son he did not
return to Lamoni until Monday.

Mr.s Lars JENSEN's family of Omaha, Nebraska, who purchased a farm of A. L.
ACKERLEY a short time ago, arrived in town Thursday last, and will live in town
until spring, when they take possession of the place.

Mr. and Mrs. PARKER, living a few miles north of town, have been entertaining
Mrs. BLAND and her daughter Miss BLAND, relatives of theirs for a time.
Thursday last the visitors left for Pattensburg, where they will visit other
relatives before returning home to Indiana.

All kinds of weather this week, from summer to winter.

Clifford BROLLIAR had the misfortune to fall and cut his lip on an ax.

Jerome GUNSOLLEY, of Sheridan, Missouri, rented Chas. FRANCES place.

O. C. BRADLEY and family moved into their new home Friday.

BLAIR's are having the west side of their mercantile house covered with iron.

One of Will CARLTON's latest poems, and Dr. HOLMES' last poem, on page six of
this issue.

Teale & Son have moved into their new quarters, leaving Scott & Briggs in
full possession of their former place.

Elder I. N. ROBERTS went Thursday to St. Joseph, Missouri, and from there he
will visit Stewartsville and other neighboring towns for a couple of weeks.

The suggestion in the PATRIOT last week about seating the choir in the middle
of the room at the Brick has received consideration and started thought and
discussion.

The PATRIOT hereby extends the proper apology to the parties interested for
its failure to insert the MASON-MERRITT wedding. We regret it as we do every
other failure or mistake; but are glad to know that our columns are so closely
watched that failures and mistakes become conspicuous.
