Stand back! The corn is about to shoot! Don't you see?

The breadth of will HONN's smile these days is only exceeded by the width of
his hat brim, and all just because he ? Grover - it is an heiress to the HONN
estate.

J. E. PIPER and children of Wayne Co. drove over into this neighborhood
Saturday evening just to see the size of the corn in our valley, which beats
anything in the two counties.

H. S. MILL? expects to start Tuesday for Colorado Springs, hoping the change
might result in a benefit to his health.

Jas. BAY and Uncle Andy HONN killed their dog last week because of unusual
symptoms they feared might be hydrophobia. It will be well for people to make a
note of this and govern themselves accordingly. We would offer timely advice
and suggest this a most seasonable time for reducing the stock of worthless
canines. Where are the officers whose duty it is to see to it.

Orris JORDAN with his binder is circulating in his neighbor's oats fields.
Oats that were far enough advanced to ripen during the hot days of last week
are plump and well filled, but such heads as were only in bloom then are but
imperfectly developed.

The new school house is enclosed and plastered.

Much needed and copious showers of rain fell gently Saturday and Sunday
nights.

Mr. M. V. STEWART is not to be out done by any of his neighbors and
consequently drives a new Moline hay loader.

A young gentleman was doing the fire department, overland fast express,
emergency ambulance, etc., acts on our roads one evening last week with his buggy
and team.

Mr. and Mrs. O. M. JORDAN, the Misses Lemma LUCE, Jessie LUCE, Myrtle MILLER,
Jossie SCOTT, Messrs. Charles QUAYLE, Charles LUCE and Elmer SCOTT formed a
pleasant tea party Thursday evening.

L. H. THOMAS, Garden Grove's hustling agricultural implement dealer is out
among our farmers and to good account, having put in six new machines on
adjoining farms.
