MR. STEPHEN HULIN, of this township, was
crossing a bridge east of S.W.
BRYAN's place with a binder last Tuesday,
having three horses attached
to the tongue and two in the lead. The
bridge broke down by the weight
of the three horses, leaving the two horses
in the lead on one side of a
deep chasm, and the binder on the other with
the three tongue horses
hanging partly suspended by the harness in
the ditch. MR. HULIN
succeeded in getting them out by cutting the
harness, but received some
severe but not dangerous bruises in doing so.

The bridge had been in a dangerous condition
for some time and should
have been repaired.
