DAVIS CITY, IOWA.
Windy and decidedly dusty withal; still very nice weather for late fall.
The L. D. S. have decided to give and supper and literary entertainment for
the benefit of the church on Thursday evening, November 9. They have ceiled
and wainscoted their church and now must plaster the sides or it cannot be used
this coming winter. They solicit your patronage and assure you a bountiful
supper for 25 cents. Come and help.When you go to the polls don't forget to vote for James KESHLEAR. He is
worthy of your confidence.Mrs.BOWMAN and daughter Josie started Friday for Burlington, Iowa, to visit
her sister there. She will be gone two or three weeks.Lucy and Edith EWING visited friends in Leon two or three days last week.
Elder Harry V. ADAMS and family are staying at her father's B. D. R.
TOPLIFF's.Elder BENNET of the Baptist society preached in the L. D. S. church Sunday.
Everybody from here went to hear the speech at Leon Monday.
Perry EWING entertained about fifteen of the young lads and lasses last
Tuesday evening at his home.M. B. EWING of Lamoni is hauling brick from his brother's yard here for the
completion of Mrs. SALESBURY's house.All Halloween this evening. Everybody better take care of everything they
value.Aunt Lucinda BISSELL went to Leon Sunday to stay several days.
Stephen EDWARDS and wife of near Lamoni spent Sunday at her father's.
Chicken thieves make nightly visits to hen roosts in this city.
May JONES gave a party to her little friends last evening.
Mrs. George CAMPBELL and daughter Bee were in Leon Saturday.
Dale SYLVESTER went to Van Wert Friday to visit friends.
Nellie BARKLEY of St. Joe, Missouri, is visiting friends in our city.
Mabel HORNER spent Sunday with her parents here.
N. P. BULLOCK and wife of Leon spent Sunday with relatives here.
James KESHLEAR, candidate for sheriff on the Democratic ticket, was in Leon
Saturday.Chas. SUTHERLIN visited the county seat Friday.
Mrs. Dr. LANEY went to Leon Friday.
