Lincoln, Neb., Dec. ll -- MISS ELEANOR KNOX,
accompanied by a cat and a
parrot, arrived in the city today from
Minneapolis to wed M.B. FRY, an
insurance agent. FRY advertized for a wife
in a Chicago matrimonial
paper, and ELEANOR answered. After a year's
correspondence, the
50-year-old maiden started for Lincoln, but
when she met FRY by
appointment and found he was 70 years old and
thrice a widower, she
threw up her hands in maidenly horror, flatly
refused to marry him and
took the evening train back home.
