WILL EDWARDS is taking in the State Fair.

N. CRAIGO went to Des Moines this morning.

W.W. WHITE went to Humeston Monday to work.

FRANK FREEMAN, of Davis City was in the city
Tuesday.

DR. MULLINIX, of Humeston, came down
yesterday.

T.E. HORNER returned from Des Moines Tuesday
afternoon.

W.E. CHERRY, of the Albia Democrat was in
Leon last Friday.

MRS. S.C. PENNIWELL and son HARRY are at the
Fair in Des Moines.

MRS. DR. SANFORD returned Saturday from a
visit at Humeston.

A.C. MINTONYE is now located at Leon.
--Garden Grove Express.

G.W. LEFOLLETT had business in lamoni the
latter part of last week.

MRS. ELDER EBERT returned from a short visit
at Creston last Thursday.

W.F. BLAIR, a merchant of Van Wert, had
business in Leon Tuesday.

JOHN WILSON departed for Mt. Pleasant last
Friday to put up a monument.

R.W. MYERS and PORT JEFFREY, of Osceola, were
Leon visitors Sunday.

LEE PICKERING went to Lamoni Saturday on
business. He returned Monday.

MRS. W.P. CLARK went to Des Moines Friday
afternoon to visit a few days.

MR. and MRS. S.E. BENEFIEL are visiting in
Leon this week. --Weldon
Hornet.

MRS. L.F. HUSTON was a passenger for Des
Moines yesterday to see the
Fair.

MRS. R.L. CLARK returned Saturday from a
visit with relatives at Webster
City.

MISS ELOISE FINLEY, of High Point, came in
Tuesday to visit friends in
this city.

A.B. LONG returned Tuesday from a visit with
his son, ORISON, at
Shenandoah.

A.B. STEARNS, of Garden Grove, had business
in Leon Monday and Tuesday.

MISS ANNIE DOSER, of Kellerton, is in the
city visiting her friend, MRS.
S.U. RUSH.

FOSTER MULLINIX, who has been working in
Pekin, Ill., returned to Leon
Tuesday.

MISS MAGGIE HURST was visiting friends in
Davis City the latter part of
last week.

MR. and MRS. W.A. ALEXANDER returned from
their visit to the World's
Fair, Monday.

MISS LOU ONEY departed for Stanberry, Mo.,
Monday, to enter on a five
months' course at the Northwestern Normal
College, which she received as
a prize in our recent voting contest.

C. VAN WERDEN, who has been visiting his
brother, GARRETT VAN WERDEN, on
his way home from the World's Fair, departed
for his home in Leon, Iowa,
this morning. --Keokuk Constitution-Democrat.

C.E. GARDNER and wife were passengers for
Chicago Saturday, to visit the
Fair, and from there MRS. GARDNER will go to
Mt. Vernon, Iowa, to assume
her duties as Musical Director in Cornell
College.

MR. GEORGE BUTTON, of Perrysburg, Ohio, is
visiting the family of his
niece, MRS. MARY CRAIGO, in this city. He is
a very pleasant gentleman,
and we were pleased to receive a friendly
call from him Monday morning.

MRS. GRACE DEVERAUX and little daughter,
departed for her home at David
City, Neb., last Thursday, after a pleasant
visit in this city with her
sister, MRS. T.E. HORNER, who accompanied her
on her journey as far as
Chariton.

GEO E. HURST, Senior member of the pupular
firm of Hurst Bros., started
for Chicago yesterday, to purchase a new
stock of fall and winter dry
goods. He is one of the sharpest and
shrewdest buyers that visits the
market, and always secures a lot of bargains
for their many customers.
