Saturday, Nov. l8th, was the golden wedding
anniversary of MR. and MRS.
JOHN KEOWN, of Pleasanton, Iowa. Their
children and grandchildren
gathered at the home of the old folks with
their baskets filled with
good things. An elegant feast was prepared
and an enjoyable time was
had.

The aged couple were united in marriage at
Nauvoo, Ill., Nov. l8th,
l844, by Elder Wm. Huntington, of the L.D.S.
Church. The first few
years of their married life was spent in Ill.
From there they moved to
Missouri, and from thence to Decatur County.
Ten children were born to
them, three girls and seven boys, two of whom
died in infancy, the
others are all married and reside in this
county. They have a number of
grandchildren and one great grandchild, all
of whom were present.
