E.A. DAUGHERTY is in Ottumwa attending a
stock sale.

MRS. E.W. CURRY is visiting relatives in
Emporia, Kansas.

UNCLE JOHN GATES of Smyrna is visiting his
nephew, S.A. GATES.

MR. and MRS. EMIL BECHTOLD visited friends
in this place yesterday.

MR. and MRS. GENE TEALE of Tuskeego are
visiting MR. and MRS. THOS.
TEALE.

MISSES BELLE and LILLIE MCKIBBEN of Garden
Grove were Leon visitors the
past week.

C.W. HOFFMAN is attending court in Mt.
Ayr. He appears for the county
in the Gentry case.

L. VAN WERDEN leaves tomorrow for Chicago,
where he goes to purchase his
holiday stock.

AUNT JANE MILLER is in Omaha for a visit
with her son, GEORGE. She will
remain two weeks.

CALVIN SMITH is counting the stories of
the high buildings at the
World's Fair Cith this week.

REV. OLLERENSHAW and wife have been
visiting friends in Des Moines.
They will return today.

MR. HEBENER of Leon visited with relatives
and friends in our city over
Sunday--Mt. Ayr Journal.

MRS. O. GARDNER and children, of Leon,
visited over Sunday with MRS. D.
HILLIKER.--Mt. Ayr Journal.

JOSEPH DETRICK spent a portion of the past
week with his daughter, MRS.
BESSIE GAMMON, in Kansas City.

W.J. and MRS. CHAS. EDWARDS are spending
Thanksgiving at Osceola with
the family of REV. F. EDWARDS.

MR. and MRS. MARK BAKER of Des Moines,
have been the guests of MR. and
MRS. F.D. CLOSE the past week.

CHARLES HEBENER left the first of the week
for southern California,
where he will engage in the marble
business.

MRS. MILLARD F. STOOKEY and son, PAUL of
Bethany, Mo., visited her
fther, JUDGE FORREY, the latter part of
the week.

MRS. MOWATT and sister, MISS MATTIE
SUTHERLAND, spent Sunday at Sidney
with PROF. MOWATT.--Glenwood Opinion.

MRS. H.J. CLOSE is at home, after an
absence of several weeks visiting
in Washington, D.C. and Chicago, and not
Davenport, as we stated last
week.

R.L. PARRISH and DR. H.R. LAYTON expect to
start for Oklahoma, where
they go to hunt bear and fish. They will
gone three weeks.

MRS. ROBINSON and daughter, FLORA,
returned from a couple of weeks
visiting at Knoxville and Leon, Iowa.
W.T. went down to Leon Friday and
returned with them.--Glenwood Opinion.

MISS BESS FINLEY is the guest of her
sister, MRS. GUS MCFARLAND, who
gave the young people a taffy pulling
Tuesday evening on her account.

RUBY MEYER and FRANK MCCALLA of Osceola,
were in town the first of the
week for the purpose of getting up an
excursion to attend Andrews Opera
at that place.

MR. and MRS. EMIL BECHTOLD and family came
from Chicago, Sunday and will
remain probably until after Thanksgiving.
They will then go to Texas.
MR. BECHTOLD sold out his business in
Chicago on account of his health,
and will probably go into the real estate
business in Texas.
