The Robert Fear Family

Robert Lesley Fear was the son of Robert and Mary Jane Day Fear. He was born
Feb. 7, 1881, at Grand River, Iowa, and died Nov. 5, 1970, with interment at
Grand River, Iowa. He was married to Grace Rachel Overholtzer, daughter of
William C. and Eveline Wright Overholtzer. She was born June 30, 1887, and
died Mar. 31, 1967, with interment at Grand River. To this union were born
two children: Robert Doyle (1913-1966) and William Dean (1917-1957).

Robert, or better known as "Rob" Fear, lived around Grand River all his life
and was engaged in farming until he retired and moved to town. His son,
Robert Doyle, lived in Grand River several years and operated the propane gas
business. He later moved to Murray where he made his home until his death.
Doyle was married to Imogene Newton. They had four children: Ingrid Davis
of Murray, Ia.; Carlos Doyle of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Harold Lee of West
Plains, Mo.; and stepson, Robert Ward of Creston, Ia.

His son, William Dean, farmed with his dad near Grand River and later went
into the insurance business when they moved into town. He was married to
Marjorie Marie Boord; and to this union four daughters were born: Mardean
McCutchan of Huxley, Ia., Carol Evans of Harrison, Ark.; Rita Adkisson of
Grand River; and Virginia Young of Des Moines, Ia. They lived several years
in the dwelling that was the hotel in the early days of Grand River. Dean
greatly enjoyed fishing, as an outdoor sport, and could be found in spring
and summer with fishing buddies along the river.
