The family reunion held on New Year's Day at the home of MRS. ANNA
FIERCE, of Van Wert, was one of the most delightful events of the
holiday season. Owing to the fact that her children are now all grown
up and some have made their homes in distant places, it is difficult to
get them all together at one time, and so this was the first time for
several years that all the members of the family now living had been
permitted to enjoy, as in the old days, the good cheer of a reunited
family circle.

W.W. FIERCE and family, of Oklahoma, had arrived a few days previous,
and F.R. BREWER and family of Russell, came the day before New Year's so
as to be able to enjoy a full day of festivity. By ten o'clock the
family were all present, which, together with the grandchildren, made a
company of about 26 people. Of course, the visiting began in earnest
with the earliest arrivals and continued without intermission until the
last guest had departed in the evening.

At about l o'clock the guests were all summoned to the dining room where
a dinner was awaiting, such as would have delighted the eyes of
Epecuress himself. Beside the more substantial foods, the table was
loaded with dainties of every kind known to the culinary art, and by the
time these had all made the round, every one had been filled to his
utmost capacity. The guests remained until evening and when finally the
party broke up, it was with the feeling that they had had a delightful
day, and also with the hope that all might be spared to be at many more
such reunions.

Those present were: C.F. FIERCE and family; E.W. FIERCE and family; W.W.
FIERCE and family, of Oklahoma, F.R. BREWER and family, of Russell,
Iowa; J.E. FIERCE and family; R.D. HOADLEY and family; and MRS. BERTHA
GOULD.
