D. Blair Jensen of Kansas City, Missouri is secretary of the Council of Twelve Apostles of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. At the 1964 World Conference, he was assigned as director of the administrative and missionary work in the Northern Plains and Prairie Provinces Region of the church, the Pacific Northwest Region and Alaska..

He was ordained an Apostle of the RLDS Church in 1946. Prior to that, he had served as president of the Lamoni, Iowa Stake and the Kansas City Stake and had been pastor of congregations in Minneapolis, Minnesota; Omaha, Nebraska and Detroit, Michigan. In addition to serving in areas throughout the United States and Canada, Apostle Jensen also has presided over the European Mission.

In 1959, he was a member of a commission which made a three-month survey in the Orient. The survey included Tokyo, Japan; Seoul, Korea and Okinawa. Congregations now have been established in each of these three places.

Reverend Jensen is a graduate of the State University of Iowa [1922] where he majored in psychology and of Graceland College, Lamoni, Iowa. He also took some special courses at Hamline University, St. Paul, Minnesota.

Prior to accepting full-time church appointment in 1928, he was a school teacher [teaching in Lamoni schools during the early 1920's] and coach in Iowa. He also had been in the logging and milling business in Ontario, Canada.

He married Delia Schreur of Gaylord, Michigan in [December 25] 1924. They have three married children. Their daughters are Mrs. Carol Bradford of Independence, Missouri and Dona Grace Vickery of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Their son, Roland Blair, lives in Raytown, Missouri.

Apostle Jensen’s office is in the Auditorium, world headquarters building of the RLDS Church in Independence, Missouri.

NOTE: Dorman Blair Jensen, the son of Mark and Bessie Sylvania (Lewis) Jensen, was born April 21, 1901 in Moorhead, Iowa, and died March 17, 1984. Delia H. (Schreur) Jensen was born March 26, 1905, and died on May 15, 1990. They were interred at Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence, Missouri.
