Peter Street was born Feb. 18, 1949, in Wales, of English parents.

Alice Weston Street was born Dec. 6, 1852, in England.

Peter and Alice had two children: James (b. Aug., 1870) and Hannah (b. Dec., 1871).

Peter arrived in America in 1871 and settled in Colesburg, Delaware Co. Alice joined him with the two children in 1872.

Five children were born in Delaware Co. between 1873 and 1882, before moving to Decatur Co. in 1882. James, the eldest, died in Delaware Co. in 1879.

In 1882, Peter and Alice and the six children moved to Grand River, Ia., where Peter had purchased 30 acres of land from Kate Martin in 1880 for $270.00. In Sept., 1886, 50 additional acres were purchased from Charles Tucker, a brother-in-law. Later, another 120 acres were purchased; and in 1908 a new house was built on this farm. Still later another 160 acres were acquired from Charles Tucker. Four children were born near the Grand River homestead.

In 1910, they moved to Faith, S. Dak., and back to Grand River in 1912. Peter and Alice celebrated their 50th anniversary and their 60th before Alice died May 30, 1930. Peter died August 2, 1932.

Eleven children were born to Peter and Alice: (four girls and seven boys) James, Hannah, Harriet, John, George, William, Henry, Albert, Mary Alice, Bertha and Ernest.

James was born in England, Aug., 1870, and died in Delaware Co. in 1879.

Hannah was born in England, Dec. 12, 1871. She married Richard Baker on Dec. 14, 1892. They farmed SE of Grand River until 1910 when they moved to Grand River. To this union five children were born: Arthur Ray (b. Oct. 28, 1893), Earl Marion (b. Oct. 25, 1897), Clarence William (b. Jan. 10, 1901) and Olive Pearl (b. Nov. 17, 1905). Hannah died Sept., 1955.

Harriet was born Dec. 14, 1873. She married John Baker, Dec. 14, 1892. They farmed SE of Grand River. To this union five children were born: Helen Vie (b. Aug. 1, 1893), Sherman William (b. July 2, 1895), Ralph Henry (b. July 2, 1898), Frank Marion (B. Jan. 24, 1903) and Hazel Lucille (b. Mar. 15, 1909). Harriet died Dec. 25, 1918. John married Mary Sears Kier (b. Mar. 6, 1880) on May 23, 1923. Mary had one child from her previous marriage, Mildred Kier.

John was born Dec. 20, 1878, in Delaware Co. He married Nela Bevans on Feb. 4, 1900. They farmed in Iowa before moving to Quinn, S. Dak., on a claim in 1908, where they farmed until Nela died on Feb. 15, 1918. To this union three children were born: ....... John died Sept. 7, 1947.

George was born Dec. 12, 1877, in Delaware Co. He married Mattie Kier on July 18, 1897. They farmed near Grand River until 1901, when they moved to S. Dak., then back to Iowa, in 1912, where George ran a blacksmith shop. They then moved to Mo. where Mattie died. To this union 5 children were born: .......

William was born June 5 1880, in Delaware Co. and died Sept. 17, 1895.

Henry was born Jan. 26, 1882, in Delaware Co. and died Nov. 4, 1967.

Albert was born Aug. 6, 1884, in Delaware Co. He married Addaline Combs (b. Dec. 18, 1886), Feb. 9, 1907. They managed the central phone office for awhile then moved to Creston, Ia. to work on the railroad. Later they moved to Chariton, Ia. They left railroading and moved to Palo Alto, Ca., where Albert died Sept. 7, 1937. To this union seven children were born: .....

Mary Alice was born July 18, 1886, near Grand River. She married Albert Maus on Jan. 4, 1905. They farmed a few years near Grand River, then moved to Des Moines, then to Chicago, Ill. To this union twelve children were born: .......Alice died Mar. 18, 1973.

Bertha was born Feb. 9, 1889 and died Feb. 28, 1889.

Ernest was born Sept. 7, 1890. He married Edith Campbell on Aug. 9, 1910. They farmed on the home place where he was born and then moved east of Grand River on the Young place and farmed until his death on April 12, 1929. To this union one child was born:......
