Page 206, Clarke Pub. Co. Osceola IA. 1981.David Snook drove a stage coach to Central City, Colorado, and bought land where the town of Beaconsfield is now and land west of Beaconsfield. Later he bought land where the Darwin Forrest Snook and Darwin Forrest, Jr. place is today.
David Snook married Margaret Ann Greenland, and they built a log cabin and dug a well on the corner west of the present house. They had five daughters: Laura McKee Adams, Minnie Hayes, Jennie Bright, Allie Wookey and Jessie Vanderpool, and three sons. Of the sons only Forrest lived to manhood. David and family lived in log cabins until 1888 when the present house was built. The basement is made of limestone rock and the walls are straight as the day they were built. The house is sitting on 12 by 12 oak.
Forrest married Mary Jones and two sons were born. Loring Franklin has two sons, Loring Franklin Jr., and Anthony Loring. He and his wife Eva Walters Snook live on the Forrest Snook home place which was bought from the Bradshaws who were relatives of Margaret Ann Greenland Snook.
