Adelia Estella "Ada" (Crees) Akers

Adelia Estella “Ada” Crees, born September 18, 1899, the daughter of Willis Wilbert and Anna Cora (Kier) Crees. She graduated from Leon High School, Leon, Decatur County, Iowa, with the class of 1918. Ada taught at the Foland School of Richland Township from 1925 to 1926, and Hickory Grove School No. 7 of Decatur Township for the year 1937 - 1938.

Ada married Dwight L. Akers on June 2, 1937 and continued teaching in the rural schools of Decatur County, Iowa. She died March 13, 1993, and was interred at Decatur Cemetery, Decatur, Iowa.
