Florence C. (McKee) West

Florence C. McKee was born near Grand River, Decatur County, Iowa in May of 1859, the daughter of William Louis and Mary Jane (Beers) McKee. She attended Normal School at Leon, Iowa in 1883. Florence was one of the prominent teachers of the county for several years prior to her marriage to Isaac W. West on March 18, 1885. The family farmed in Long Creek Township prior to moving to Leon, Iowa, in 1915.

Isaac, the son of William and Elizabeth (Robinson) West, was born July 21, 1862, Long Creek Township of Decatur County, Iowa. Isaac died in 1929; Florence died in 1932. They were interred at the Leon Cemetery.
