BIOGRAPHY ~ THE JAMES FRANKLIN JONES FAMILY

James Franklin Jones, son of Lebert Robert and Melissa (McConnell) Jones, was born Decatur County, Iowa, February 25, 1861, and died June 22, 1948. He was united in marriage January 7, 1885 to Minnie Inez Denham, daughter of Jacob Antrim and Angeline (Bushnell) Denham, born January 21, 1865 at Hopeville, Iowa, and died July 1, 1916. Both are buried in Westerville Cemetery. They became the parents of eight children:

1. - Paul Denham, b. 1884, d. 1954; m. 1906 Ethel Mamie Metts (1888-1961); interred Westerville;

11 children: Elma, Zeta, Opal, James, Gerald, John, Hazel, Hershel, Paul, Darlene, Lyle

2. - Mary Elizabeth, b. 1887, d. 1973; m. Forest Snook (1888-1971); interred Westerville Cemetery;

2 children: Loring Franklin, Darwin Forrest

3. - Dena Ruth, b. 1888, d. 1973; m. 1908 Leonard Luther Foland (1887-1974);

interred Grand River Cemetery; 4 children: Gussie, Mary, Roy, Eugene

4. - Ira Edward, b. 1890, d. 1966; interred Westerville Cemetery; m. 1912 Silvia Shields (1893-1955);

interred Hopeville Cemetery; 7 children: Inez Mary, Norman P., Edward Ira, Irvin Lloyd,

Emmett LeRoy, Maggie Rena and ___ (son)

5. - Frances Jennie, b. 1894, d. 1979; m. Forrest Miller; 2 children

6. - Elta Laura, b. 1896, d. 1943; interred Westerville Cemetery; m. William Joe Shields (1895-1975);

5 children: Carl, Rosalee, Robert, Roland and Roberta

7. - Katherine Zelma, b. 1902; m. Everett F. Milisted; 4 children
