Fred Wesley Gill, son of James Milton and Margaret E. (Harder) Gill was born October 13, 1889 in Decatur, Illinois, and died of a heart attack on his farm in Doyle Township, Clarke County, Iowa, on July 5, 1962. He came from Illinois with his family as a boy, and was educated in the Decatur county schools and farmed. He met Blanche Burchett while attending the Tennessee Church, and they were married on February 9, 1916. Daughter of William Cole and Sarah Elizabeth (Dietrich) Burchett, she was born on February 11, 1892 in Delhi, Oklahoma where the family had gone to homestead in 1888. They started farming south of Van Wert, Iowa on the Hepburn farm, remaing there for about twenty years, then moved south of Weldon for two years, and in 1942 bought the farm of her father, William Burchett. They were getting ready to retire from the farm when Fred suddenly died. To this union were born three daughters:
Evelyn Louise b. July 18, 1918, married Oct. 1942 to Don O'Neall, son of Lloyd T. (Pete) O'Neall, two children:
Larry, born May 6, 1946 who married Judy Smith, had two children: Angela Marie and Ryan Jay.
Rodney Merrill married Cheri Johnson, two children: Shannon & Shay Lynn.Freda Marie born Nov. 8, 1922, married May 4, 1942 to Michael Jones, son of Michael and Mary Louise (Robb) Jones. They had three children: Ron, Mary Lou & Sandy.
Helen Berniece born Feb. 2, 1924, married Oct. 1942 to Glendal William (Sport) Wade, son of Thomas C. and Harriet S. (Gardner) Wade. Born Aug. 8, 1922, he died Nov. 4, 1979. Sport and Helen owned and operated a bulk plant for fertilizer and propane near Weldon. They had four sons:
Jeff m. Martha Wade, two children: Shawn & Jennifer
Jack married Lynette Ramsey
Jon m. Becky Schumacher, children: twins (Dylen & Schyler)
and Jamie who m. Marti Belin.NOTE: Blanche died in 1990. Blanche and Fred were interred at Maple Hill Cemetery, Osceola, Iowa.
Helen died August 5, 1999. Helen and Sport were interred at Hebron Cemetery near Weldon.

Michael "Mickey" Jones son of Michael and Mary Louise (Robb) Jones was born July 12, 1920 [July 20 on his gravestone] in Osceola, Iowa, and died of a heart attack on December 5, 1975. He attended schools in Osceola, and when World War II beckoned, he served [TSgt.] four and a half years, part of that time in the Aleutian Islands. He returned to the States, where he was stationed in California, Texas and Arkansas where he trained "Misfits", no small job, as these were men who had been booted out of other camps. He was married on May 4, 1942 to Freda Marie Gill, daughter of Fred and Blanche (Burchett) Gill, who was born Nov. 8, 1922. After the birth of their first child, Ron, she stayed with her parents while Mickey was in the Aleutians, and on his return, followed him to the various stations. He was discharged in 1945, and they farmed near Weldon, where their second child, Mary was born, and after two years, they bought the farm owned by Oren and Marj Havard, known as the old Willis Rilea farm in Doyle township, Clarke County, Iowa, in 1948, where Freda still resides. They had three children:
Ronald Gill born Oct. 13, 1943 m. Oct. 26, 1968 at St. Francis Cabrini Church in Omaha to Joan Marie Atkinson, daughter of Albert Henry and Sina Angelina (Caniglia) Atkinson. Ron farms the home place and works for John Deere in Ankeny. They had two children: Anthony Michael and Daniel Joseph.
Mary Louise b. Dec. 15, 1945 m. July 3, 1963 to Roger Brooks, son of Everett and Darlene (Adams) Brooks. They live in Ankeny where she works for the school system and Roger works at the John Deere Company. They had two children: Shari Denise and Jacqueline Sue.
Sandra Sue b. Oct. 11, 1950 m. Nov. 2, 1968 to John Means, son of Ralph and Mildred Means. John works for John Deere Company at Ankeny. They had two children: Teresa Michelle and Diana Marie.
NOTE: Freda died in 2000. Freda and Michael were interred at Maple Hill Cemetery, Osceola, Iowa.
