(Lewis Publishing Company (1887)), Pp. 698-99:JAMES PERDUE, retired farmer of High Point Township, resides on section 29, where he owns 320 acres of land. He was born in Harrison County, Ohio, in April, 1812, son of Jonathan and Rebecca Perdue, the former of English and the latter of French ancestry. His maternal grandfather came from France and settled in Virginia. James was reared to manhood in Guernsey County, Ohio. He learned the carpenter's trade and followed that occupation for thirty years. He was married in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, in 1839, to Anna McCune, born in Harrison County [OH] in 1815. Her father was of Irish and her mother of German descent. Their children are - Rebecca, a widow; Martha, wife of George Conklin; Randolph, at home, married Ora Lance (sic), and they have three children - Jane, Della and William R.; and Mary. Mr. Perdue has held the office of school director and has been a member of the School Board. He is a member of the Masonic fraternity, and belongs to a lodge at Lewisberg. he is one of the influential men of the county. Politically he is a Democrat. Postoffice, High Point. Ohio, in 1839
NOTE: James Perdue died September 10, 1894. Anne Perdue was born in 1817, and died at the age of 65 years, 11 months and 3 days on December 24, 1882. They were interred at Leon Cemetery, Leon IA.
James "Randolph" Perdue was born in Tuscarawas Co. OH on December 10, 1851, and died May 21, 1934. Oglaita Olive "Ola" (Lentz) Perdue was born in Decatur County IA on March 23, 1855, and died at High Point IA August 1, 1899. They were interred at Lentz Cemetery, Decatur County IA. Of Randolph and Ola's children:
