J. A. PRYOR is a native of Decatur County, Iowa, born May 5, 1858, a son of ALLEN and AMELIA FRANCES (NEWMAN) PRYOR. He was reared on a farm, and his youth assisted in the work, thus early learning the principles that followed result in a successful agricultural life. He attended the common schools of his county, fitting him for active business life. He owns a good farm of 160 acres in Harrison County, Missouri, which is all under a good state of cultivation. He was married February 15, 1882, to Miss CLARA MCBROOM, daughter of R. M. and SUSAN MCBROOM. They have one daughter – LENA ETHEL. In politics Mr. PRYOR casts his suffrage with the Democratic party.
