Cintha "Ottie" York
Cintha "Ottie" York, 98, passed away at the Good Samaritan Home, in Ottumwa, Iowa, at 9:15 a.m., March 12, 1986. She was born July 31, 1887, in Savannah, Iowa, the daughter of S.A. and Alpha Dooley Dabney.
Mrs. York lived around the Davis County, Iowa, and Scotland County, Missouri area all of her life.
She was united in marriage to Bert L. York, February 15, 1903. They were farmers and were married 76 years.
She is survived by a daughter, Nelda Stark of Kahoka, Missouri; two sons, Don and Herb of California; 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Vanhorn, of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Francis Jarvis of Downing, Missouri.
She was preceded in death her husband, Bert; four sons, Vaughn, Gilbert, Woodrow and Robert York; two sisters, Oma McCullough and Ogg Martin and one brother, Ottis Dabney.
Services were conducted March 15, 1986, 1 p.m. from the Payne-Gerth Funeral Chapel, Memphis, Missouri. The Rev. Kenneth Campbell officiated. the body bearers were grandsons. Burial was in the Memphis Cemetery. Arrangements were by the Payne-Gerth Funeral Chapel.
