Hazel Foster
Hazel Margaret Foster, 85, daughter of Erestus and Sadie Sarah Simmons Mathews, was born October 18, 1897, in Stuttgard, Arkansas, and she passed away April 20, 1983, in the Scotland County Memorial Nursing Home, Memphis, Missouri.
In 1914, she was united in marriage to Harvey Bullock in Stuttgard, Arkansas, and to this union four children were born, Roy, Opal, Vern and Donald. Mr. Bullock preceded her in death.
April 18, 1930, in Memphis, Missouri, she was married to James Foster. To this union two children were born, Jean and Lula Belle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James, in 1947, and an infant daughter, Lula Belle; one son, Roy, and six brothers.
She is survived by two dauthers(sp), Opal Hall and husband, Lowell of Bloomfield, Iowa and Jean Campbell and husband, Leo Vern, of Memphis, Missouri; two sons, Vern Bullock and wife, Dorothy, of Memphis, Missouri, and Donald Bullock and wife, Juanita, of Eldorado Springs, Mo.; 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ida Bell Lasley, of Mild, Missouri and one brother, Burten Mathews of Bloomfield, Iowa.
She joined the Christian Church in Stuttgart, Arkansas, at an early age. Mrs. Foster was a great lover of her garden and flowers which she enjoyed sharing with others.
Services were held Saturday, April 23, 1983, 11:00 a.m. in the Payne-Gerth Chapel, Memphis, Missouri. The Rev. Kenneth Campbell officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Organist was Nancy Harris and soloist was Kenneth Campbell. Body bearers were Waldo McWilliam, Robert Riney, William Shelley, Wesley Lay, Wilbert Lohmann and Bill Hall.
