Russell Doll
Russell Doll, 62, died at his Centerville rural home Friday night. He was a former Bloomfield resident.
A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church and a 32nd degree Mason. He was a member of Franklin Lodge 14 in Bloomfield, York Rite Bodies of Centerville, KAABA Shrine and American Legion.
He constructed and was former operator of Motel 63 and owned and operated a body shop in Bloomfield for several years. He was one of the organizers and past president of the Izaak Walton League.
Survivors include his mother; his wife, Mary; a daughter, Ramona Archer of rural Moulton; a son, Ronald of Indianapolis, Ind.; a granddaughter; seven sisters, Irene Weltch and Mary Adamson of Ottumwa, Jennie Brown of Burlington, Betty Barker of Flint, Mich., Patty Powell of Moulton, Nancy Cox of Urbandale and Sharon Henshaw of Centerville; a brother, Jack, of Centerville.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today at the Priester Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Don Slaughter conducting. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Members of the Reed-Whisler American Legion Post conducted military services. A Masonic service was held Monday night.
Memorials may be made to the Bloomfield Christian Church.
