Sarah V. Caruthers, 101, died at 9:55 a.m. Thursday at the Good Samaritan Center in Ottumwa.

She was born in Davis County on Aug. 16, 1878 to William and Hester Luellen Nelson and always lived in Davis County. She was affiliated with the Troy United Methodist Church and married William Miller. he died in 1905. She married Albert Caruthers, who also preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Belle Van Dusen of Bloomfield; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Wagler Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. John Augspurger. Burial was in the Troy Cemetery.
