Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” December 13, 1894:

Grandma Cheetham, of Floris, died on last Tuesday morning, Dec. 4, at 8 o’clock, aged 80 years. She died on the same day of the same month on which her husband died–just nine years after his death. Deceased was the mother of fourteen children, six of whom are living. Joseph Cheetham lives at Otnego [sic], Kan.; Cornelius and John in Washington; Ruth Agard in Des Moines; Martha Hart in Bloomfield, and Thomas, who had lived with her since Uncle George Cheetham, as he was called, had gone before. Mother Cheetham loved her children with a love that never tired. Her favorite son Neal was elected to the legislature in Washington recently but she did not live to learn of it. Mrs. Frances Cheetham was born in London, England, in 1814, and had lived about Floris for forty years. She was a mother in the church and never tired of doing good.
