Mary Florence Torpy, daughter of Asa & Sarah Farrington, was born in Bloomfield Sept 22, 1882, and died at her home in Omaha, NE., April 16, 1970 at the age of 87 years, six months and 24 days. She attended Southern Iowa Normal graduating April 24, 1903. She later attended Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls and received her teaching degree. She taught junior high school at Cozad, NE & at Bloomfield, Melbourne, Centerville, Marshalltown, Ottumwa and Irwin. She was united in Marriage to Daniel Torpy May 21, 1919. To this union 3 children were born. After the death of her husband Feb 18, 1946, she made her home in Omaha. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, one brother, Dale; and a step-son, Burie Daniel Torpy. She is survived by her tow sons, Lawrence Dale of Omaha and William Farrington of Minneapolis, Minn. One Daughter Mrs Gordon Pdersen (Margaret of Omaha, NE. tow stepsons, Dee & Jennings, 20 grandchildren, and 28 great grand children. Interment was in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Omaha, Neb. ~ Davis county paper
