IVA ELOISE DOWNING, Baby daughter of Mr and Mrs Noah Downing was born in Bloomfield Jan. 7 1919, and died at the home of her parents in Des Moines March 1, 1920 aged 1 year, 1 month and 22 days, following an attack of pneumonia. Little Eloise had been in poor health for several months but up until a few weeks ago seemed to withstand all trouble but she took a deep cold and pneumonia set in and the death angel came and took her to be with God. During the brief stay baby Eloise was allowed to make with us, she brought nothing but sunshine, gladdening the hearts of those so near and dear to her, and we feel that our loss is her gain and that she was the lily needed for God to complete his garden. Little Eloise leaves to mourn their loss her father and mother, three brothers and three sisters, one brother and three sisters having preceded her in death. The funeral service was held at the home of the recently married sister, [Hazel] Mrs William R Baker, conducted by Rev Singer of Floris and the little form was laid to rest in the Dunnville Cemetery.
