Ottumwa tri-weekly courier, October 03, 1912 Peter H. Henderson was born in Louisa County, Iowa, September 13, 1870, and passed away at his homenear Floris, September 24, 1912, aged 42 years and 11 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Dollie Krizer, at Rose Hill, Iowa, February 26, 1895. He is survived by his wife and aged parents, four brothers and one sister.
Davis County in the year 1908, and by his integrity and kindness won the love and respect of all with whom he became acquainted while residing here. A short funeral service was conducted at the Christian church of Floris on September 25, by Rev. D. W. Hastings. The pall bearers were Rushell Burrows, Ira Thompson, Ernest Younkin, John Prather, Milo Foster and Charles Harward. His body was taken to Rose Hill over the C. R. I. & P. where his parents reside and the funeral was held at the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. Witham, the pastor, after which he was laid to rest in Wymore cemetery. Mr. Henderson was a member of both the M. W. A. and R. N. A. lodges of Floris.

Henderson was born in Louisa county, Iowa, September 13, 1870 and died at his home near Floris, Davis county, Iowa, Sept. 24, 1912, aged 42 years and 11 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Dollie Krizer at Rose Hill. Mahaska County, Iowa, Feb. 26, 1895. He is survived by his wife, also by his aged parents, who reside at Rose Hill, four brothers, James at Miltonsvalle Kansas, William at Martinsburg Iowa, George and Frank, both at Rose Hill, and one sister Mrs. Ida Lockard who lives in Atlanta Missouri. Mr.
Henderson located in Davis County in the year 1908, where he resided until his death. He bore his suffering patiently, although being afflicted with that dread disease, cancer of the stomach. After months of suffering, and when all possible that medicine could do, had failed, on May 30, he went to Centerville, hoping that an operation might give relief. But upon examination his case was found to be incurable. After a month at the hospital he returned home with his wife who had been with him, being ever at his side. To know him was to respect and love him. He had always a kindly word and a smile for all.
All that medical skill and kind hearts could do was done, but to no avail. A host of friends mourn his departure. Funeral services were held at the Christian church at Floris at 1:30 p. m. Sept. 25, conducted by Rev. Daniel Hasting. Reading from the 16th chapter of Matthew and the fifth chapter of Romans. The body was taken to Rose Hill for interment at the Wymore cemetery.
Funeral services were held at the M. E. church of Rose Hill at 11 o'clock a.
m. Friday Sept. 27, conducted by Rev. Witham, pastor of that church. Reading from the 14th chapter, 2nd verse of St. John. Many and beautiful were the floral tributes brought by friends, neighbors and the M. W. A. and R. N. A. camps of which he was a member, who as a last act of loving remembrance heaped these mute messengers of peace and love upon the casket.
