Ottumwa tri-weekly courier, October 19, 1911 Jesse Thomas Crist, the son of John and Mariah Crist, was born August 28, 1886 and died October 8, 1911, aged 25 years, 1 month and 12 days. He was preceded in death by his father, who died about 12 years ago, one brother Joel, who died when he was 19 years old, and one sister, who died in infancy. He leaves to mourn their loss, a mother, with whom he had always made his home, one brother, and six sisters, besides a host of relatives and friends. The brother is Frank Crist of Ottumwa and the sisters are Mrs. Clara Hawkins of Belknap, Mrs. Ida May Hawkins, of Belknap, Mrs. Margaret Eleanor McCall, of Ottumwa, Mrs. Lucy Myrtle Eakins, of Ottumwa, Mrs. Julia Catherine Songer of South English and Mrs. Lydia Iola Sample of Belknap. Mr. Crist will be missed by all and especially by his mother. He was very kind and considerate to his mother.
His death was due to a siege of typhoid pneumonia. He had been in poor health for several months. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Geo. W. Burgin, pastor of the Brethren Church of Ottumwa. Interment in the Harbour cemetery, northwest of Belknap
