Ottumwa tri-weekly courier, December 05, 1911 Tillie Henderson Gale was born in Davis County, Iowa, May 8, 1873, died at her home corner Vine and Sheridan avenue, Wednesday, Nov. 8, 1911, aged 38 years 6 months. She was united in marriage to W. E. Gale fourteen years ago next March. One child was born to them, Mina now 10 year old. Mrs. Gale with her husband and little child moved to Ottumwa 8 years ago where she resided until death called her home. She had been a sufferer for months which suffering she bore patiently, and after two fruitless operations, and a hard struggle for life she passed away peaceably at her home on the date above mentioned. She united with the Christian church in Monterey, Iowa, years ago and remained faithful until death, dying in the faith and hope of the gospel. For the last eight years her membership had been with the Davis Street Christian church.
She leaves a husband, one child, two brothers, William and Samuel of Moulton, six sisters, Mrs. Emma Horn of Ottumwa, Mrs. Vera Walker of Bloomfield, Lillie, Mrs. Martha Moore, Mrs. Lou Davis and Mrs. Angeline Martin of Moulton.
Her father and mother
are both dead having passed away some years ago. Services were conducted from the Moulton Christian church Friday, Nov. 10, the sermon was delivered by S.
Isaac Elder, pastor of the Davis Christian church. Interment in the Moulton cemetery.
