Mary Erma Adams, daughter of Oliver and Ida Adams was born August 28, 1894:
died at her home north of Drakesville, March 16. 1911, aged 16 years, 6 months and 18 days. She united with the Christian church at Pleasant Hill in 1909 and was a devoted Christian girl until her death. She was an unusually sweet spirited girl and had & smile for everyone. She died as she had lived, with a smile on her lips. The funeral services were held at the Pleasant Hill Christian church, where she had been the organist for several years, conducted by E. A. Hastings of Bloomfield Friday March 17, and the largest concourse of people that had ever assembled at that place were present to witness their grief and esteem in which she was held. The whole community is in mourning and the parents are heart broken. She will be greatly missed in the church and in the community, but most of all in the home where her presence was always an inspiration and benediction. This sorrow would be unbearable were it not for the hope of the life beyond where there will be no more death. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved in this sore affliction. Erma is gone but her Christian spirit still lives in memory and all who knew her were made better by her beautiful life.
