PASSING OF DAVIS PIONEER.
Mrs. Virginia Irvin Dies at Home Marshalltown Formerly of Bloomfield.
Marshalltown, Sept. 12.—(Special)—
Mrs. Virginia Irvin, aged 88 years, a pioneer of Davis county, died at her home here yesterday of old age. Mrs. Irvin was one of the early workers in the Christian church in Iowa and had been a member of the denomination for sixty-nine years. Her husband, the Rev. Isaiah W. Irvin, was a minister of the church for eighteen years prior to his death in 1871. The Rev. and Mrs. Irvin came to Davis County from Ohio in 1855, and lived on a farm near Drakeville until Mr. Irvin's death. Mrs. Irvin then moved to Moulton, in Appanoose county, and then to Bloomfield, and came to this city in 1892. Mrs. Irvin is survived by six sons, thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
