Death Comes to Ottumwa Man, 93
Stanley Craft Had Lived 68 Years In Iowa; Five Daughters, Eight Sons Survive.
Stanley Craft, 93, for 68 years an Iowan, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Everett Bigham, Minnesota Street, at 10:30 AM today. Mr. Craft was the son of Jonathan and Elizabeth Craft and was born October 11, 1843, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania. He came to Iowa when he was 25 years of age.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Minnie Clark of Chillicothe, Mrs. Etta Thomas of Creswell, Oregon, Mrs. Bigham, Mrs. Florence Burkhalter and Mrs.
Mary Speer, all of Ottumwa; eight sons, Lawrence, Charles and Dr. Stanley Craft Jr, of Ottumwa, Marion of Hedrick, Dr. Carl, Jim and Earl Craft of Marshalltown, and Henry of Bloomfield, and one brother L. C. Craft of La Crosse, Wisconsin. Funeral services will be held Monday at 3 PM in Johnson's funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Stemple White of Seventh-day Adventist church, Oskaloosa. Burial be made in the Shaul cemetery.
