Simmons Rites In Florida

Word has been received here of the death of Earl M. Simmons, native of Jefferson County, who died Saturday noon in a nursing home in Dunedin, Fla. He had been in poor health four years and seriously ill several months.

Rites will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Moss Funeral Chapel in Dunedin with burial in the Dunedin, Fla. cemetery.

Earl M. Simmons was born in 1891 in Jefferson County and was married to Mamie Johnson in 1912. They moved to a farm in Davis County where they lived for 50 years. After retiring from the farm they moved to Robins before going to Florida in 1969.

Simmons is survivied by his widow, who resides at Silk Oak Lodge 34, Clearwater, Fla., 3018 U.S. 19 N, 33515.

Survivors include one son, Herbert, also of Dunedin; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Clifford, Oroville, Calif.; and a sister, Mae Johnson, Santa Cruz, Calif.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
