LEOS BIGGS

Leos Biggs, 83, of Memphis, Mo. died at 7 a.m. Sunday, April 8, 1979 in Bloomfield Manor Nursing Home, Iowa, after being ill for some time.

He was born September 23, 1895 in Scotland County, Mo., a son of the late Harlan R. and Cora Rugh Biggs. He married Leah Crowder on February 26, 1919 in Arbela, Mo. She preceded him in death December, 1975.

Mr. Biggs was a lifeling (sic: lifelong) resident of the Memphis area and was a member of the Memphis Baptist Church. He attended Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo. and was a school teacher.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. Paul and Norma Westhoff; two grandchildren, Larry Westhoff and wife Caunita, of Florissent, Mo., and Earl Westhoff and wife Peggy, of Cantril, Ia., four great-grandchildren, Scot, Stacy, Amy, and Laura Westhoff; a brother, Perle Biggs; a sister, Mrs. Irene Summers, all of Memphis; two nieces; two nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.

Mr. Biggs was preceded in death by a son, Carroll, who died July 19, 1942.

Funeral services were conducted by D.W. Payne & Sons from the Memphis Baptist Church Wednesday April 11, 1979, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ernest Deatrick, officating. Memorials were made to the Memphis Baptist Church Building Fund. Interment was in the Memphis Cemetery, Scotland County, Mo.
