Power of Attorney,

Know all men by these presents that I Elizabeth Downing of Davis Co, State of Iowa, have made, constituted and appointed, and by these presents do make constitute and appoint Ellis Downing of Davis County, State of Iowa my true and lawful attorney, for me and in my name, place and ---- to settle and closeout to final settlement and collection any and all claims due or to become due to me from the Estate of Wm C Downing desceased or from Daniel Moffett Administrator of said Wm C Downing desceased and to prove up and collect any money due or owing to me from said estate and to execute and deliver a proper receipt or voucher therefor on my name, giving and excecuting -- to said Atty full power and authority to do and perform all and every act and thing whatsoever, requisite and necessary to be done in and about the premises as fully to all intents and purposes, as I might or could do if personnally present, with full power of institution and revoc-- hereby conferming all that my said atty or his substitute shall do or cause to be done by virtue here of with full power to ---
promise or compound said claim if in his judgement deemed best
