There's a tombstone transcription for a Hugh R. Freeman (b.1890, d.1931) at the Brethren Cemetery in Colfax Twp. The transcription is here:

Also, in the 1910 Federal Census, there's a Freeman family living in Lincoln Twp, Dallas County, as follows:

FREEMAN, John, Head, age 50, married 30 yrs, born Iowa, father/mother born New York, occupation farmer, rents farm.
FREEMAN, Alzina, Wife, age 50, married 30 yrs, 5 children/4 living, born Iowa, father born New York, mother born Wisconsin.
FREEMAN, Roy, Son, age 30, single, born Iowa, occupation photographer.
FREEMAN, Hugh, Son, age 20, single, born Kansas, occupation farm laborer.
FREEMAN, Elmer, Son, age 5, single, born Iowa.
FREEMAN, Mary S, Step-mother, age 58, widowed, born Michigan, father/mother born Massachusetts, occupation dress-maker.
