Looking for descendants of James M. Potter b.1832 Fort Ann, NY, d.Aug.3,1901 Dallas County, Woodward, IA. He married Lena Lewis b.Oct.1849 NY (of Canadian parentage) d. unknown. James came to Woodward in 1877. He was a druggist and mason. He was major of Woodward in 1893-94 and Mason Past Master in 1894-95. He was also in a book the "History of Woodward 1883-1893. His children were; Anna b.1875, Wilber b.1877 (became a dentist), Edith b.1882 married a doctor, and Florence b.1889. Back in 1989 I was in contact with a Esther S. Cooper who was quite elderly at the time and after 2 letters she failed to respond again. She gave me some info but no dates or location of what may have happened to the Potter children.
