Reuben Hampton circa 1869?

Seeking information on whether Reuben Rogers Hampton and adult children settled in Dallas County, IA ca 1869. They moved on to California in 1878, possibly earlier to Colorado. This group would also include family of Commodore Perry Bales. Anyone with information?
For years now I have assumed that Reuben R. Hampton settled briefly in Page Co., IA because his three sisters lived there since early 1850s. However, I find no footprints in census, land, etc of this family. I found a photograph of his son taken in Adel, Dallas Co. and am thinking that perhaps they were there instead. Anyone have access to the 1870 Census who could look up Reuben R. Hampton (1822-1891) m. Cynthia Reeves (1820-1891). Children: John D., Lydia Ann, Elizabeth, Elisha, Mary, David Franklin, Eliza, Silas Ingram, William Clayton, James Marshall and Henry. The daughter Lydia might be in a separate household under Commodore Perry Bales.
