Eston Mitchell Obit

I was reading the obit for Eston Mitchell and tried to email the poster, but it bounced. So I'll try this route.

I found your obit for Eston on the Dallas Co., Genweb site. I found it very interesting and containing some errors, and questions. Two obvious errors are in your additional info. The birth dates of Mary and Jane (Alicia is the unreadable name) are too close together to be biologically possible. Mary may have been born in 1853 since she is referenced in the 1854 Allamakee Co. census. Also J H was born in 1857 (he is listed in the 1860 census). Eston is terrible about his age, so I am not surprised. Now for the mysteries. The obit mentions 6 children, all living, but Huldah lists 7 children, 6 living in the 1910 census. Huldah's maiden name is also a mystery. The obit has her as a Mitchell. Harry Rush in a late 1930's genealogy of the Rush family lists her as a Rush. There is a Huldah Mitchell born about the same time in the same locale, daughter of Otha Mitchell and 1st cousin of my 3rd great grandfather. I have Huldah Mitchell dying in 1895. Huldah Rush is the sister of my 3rd great grandmother. So either way I'm related to this family. Do you have any other information that could shed light on any of this? Perhaps the obit is correct (and I would tend to trust the children) and Huldah Rush married a Mitchell and really is the one who died in 1895. If she really is a Mitchell, her uncles, Asa and Eli are historical figures in Texas.

FYI that Eston appears to be married to a Harriet in 1850 with a son Joseph. Any family lore of that?
