John Mitchell, 88, passed away January 20, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 24 at McCalley Funeral home in Adel with burial at Panther Creek Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where family will greet friends from 4 p.m. until service time.
John was a retired farmer who loved to work on Honda cars. He is survived by four children: David (Arlene), Nancy (Russ) Pope, Ann (Jeff) Montgomery, Loren Mitchell, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elnore, son, Jeff, parents, and two sisters.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Adel United Methodist Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
