Liz Berlau, 60, died Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital (Mayo Clinic) in Rochester, MN due to complications from a bilateral lung transplant. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 11, at Point of Grace Church in Waukee, with burial to follow at Brethren Cemetery in Dallas Center.

Liz was born on March 4, 1951, in Dayton, Ohio to Dorothy (Miller) and Elden Molen. She grew up in Dayton, Ohio and married Daniel Berlau on August 4, 1978. They lived in Port St. Lucie, FL for twelve years and moved to Dallas Center in 1996. Liz was a bookkeeper at Marsh & McLennan for 15 years, retiring due to health reasons in 2011. She enjoyed reading, country music and Disney movies, but her passion was spending time with her family.

Elizabeth is survived by husband, Dan of Dallas Center, three sons, Josh Berlau of Ankeny, Christian Berlau of Dallas Center, and Brad (Irene) Berlau of Ft. Riley, KS; granddaughters Kasondra McEachern, and Chloe and Zoe Berlau; and brothers, Jerry Molen of Centerville, OH, and Mark (Shelley) Molen of Knoxville, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Friday at Iles Funeral Homes-Brandt Chapel in Dallas Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Point of Grace Church in Waukee. Online condolences will be welcomed at IlesCares.com.
