Cecile Light, 90, died Sunday, January 8, 2012, at Spurgeon Manor in Dallas Center. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, at Dunkard Brethren Church, with burial to follow at Brethren Cemetery.

Cecile was born in Quinter, KS, in 1921. She married John Light in 1942 and they made their home in Minburn for 64 years. Cecile was a housewife and volunteered for the American Cancer Society and Meals on Wheels. She loved bible study, sewing, quilting and gardening.

Cecile is survived by her husband of 70 years, John, her children, Bernetta (Larry) Hawbaker, Marlene (Roy) Wicks, and Susie Light; 14 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Richard and Eldon Lilly. Cecile was preceded in death by her parents and her children, Ruth, Johnny and Dale.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Iles Funeral Homes-Brandt Chapel in Dallas Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
