Opal was born in Dexter, Iowa on September 27, 1919, to Warren and Goldie Hutchins Freiberg. She grew up in Redfield and was a lifelong resident. She was united in marriage to James E. Dwinell. In Opal's younger years she was an avid gardener. She loved her flowers and always knew where to go to harvest the wild asparagus and morel mushrooms. Opal knew so many people and took pleasure in visiting with them. She enjoyed going to Redfield Feed to visit and buy cat food for all of her precious cats that she took in which people no longer wanted. She also enjoyed the quality time spent with her children, grandchildren and her many great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Goldie, her husband, James Dwinell, two sisters, Clarabel Leff and Lorene Nold, one son, Pete Davis, two granddaughters Susan Allbee and Tracy Engle. Opal leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Janie Coldiron, Carolyn LeFleur, and Garry Davis all of Redfield; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren and a host of friends all of whom will miss her greatly. ~ The Des Moines (IA) Register 29 Jan 2012.
