Addison Leroy Myers, second son of Addison Emery and Anna Elizabeth Myers, was born at Dallas Center, Iowa, Jan. 15, 1877, and departed this life Jan. 31, 1942, at the age of 65 years and 16 days. In the year 1894, he, with his family, moved to Dexter, Iowa, where he had made his home until the time of his death.

April 8, 1906, he was united in marriage to Catherine Dolan Brennaman. To this union two children were born: Opal and Harold, who survive to mourn his departure. Mrs. Myers passed away March 5, 1928.

Mr. Myers is also survived by two brothers and one sister, Carl of Omaha, Boyd of Oklahoma City and Grace L. Myers, of Dexter, a host of friends with whom he has been associated for a great many years.

Mr. Myers attended school at Dallas Center and at Dexter Normal. Later he was employed in the Dexter postoffice, Rock Island depot and in hardware and mercantile business before opening the restaurant he has operated for a period of more than 20 years. Thus he was one of the remaining older Dexter business men. Mr. Myers served a number of terms on the town council and was affiliated with the M.W.A. lodge.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Welch funeral home by the Rev. Wm. E. Youtsler of Earlham. Interment in the Dexter cemetery.
