Died—At her home in Adair county, Monday, April 11, 1898, Mrs. Augusta Glyde Belden, wife of Joel W. Belden, aged 68 years, 10 months and 12 days. Augusta Glyde was born in Yoville, Summersetshire, England, and came with her parents to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, in 1839. She was united in marriage to Joel W. Belden, September 10, 1851, at Kewannee, Illinnois, and they lived near Galesburg, Illinois, for twenty-five years when they came to Adair county which has been their home for twenty two years.

Mrs. Belden became a follower of Jesus and united with the Presbyterian church of Pittsburg in early girlhood, and on her removal to Illinois she changed her membership to the M.E. church, of which she remained a member until her death.

The funeral services which were largely attended, were held at the home, Thursday, April 14, conducted by Rev. Glen Taylor, of Stuart, and the remains were laid to rest in the Dexter cemetery.

Mrs. Belden has ever been a wise and faithful wife and mother and was held in very high esteem by her friends of whom she had very many. Those who survive her are one brother, one sister, six children, all of whom are married, twenty-two grandchildren, and her husband who is in very poor health only waiting the summons when they shall be reunited where there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying.
