William Nelson, 94 of Atlantic, died Sunday, Sept. 15 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic. Graveside

The son of Nels and Christina Petersen Nelson, he was born Sept. 3, 1902 in Elk Horn. His father died in 1907 and he went to live with his grandparents who raised him. He received his education at the Audubon Center School. On Aug. 21, 1926 he was married to Nellie Davis. The couple had two daughters, who both died in infancy. They farmed in the Stuart and Dexter areas, moving into Dexter in 1965 when he retired. Eight years later they moved to Atlantic, where they have resided until his death.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his infant daughters, Betty Ann and Ruby Juanita, were his parents and three brothers, James, Anton and Andrew.
