Norma was born the youngest child of Jacob Fred and Elaine (Holderbaum) Fink.

She attended country school Penn #4, graduated from Dexter H.S. in 1959, she attended AIB Business College in Des Moines.

On June 9, 1962, she married Jim Garwood at the Presbyterian Church in Dexter. A daughter, Pamela was born to this union.

They lived in Pella, Nevada before moving to Albia. Norma Jean faithfully worked beside her husband in Garwood Health Mart for 26 years and ministered to the community.

She was a member of the First Christian Church and served willingly helping others. She was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed making quilts and giving them to others.

She was preceded in death by her parents and leaves to celebrate her joyous life, her husband, Jim of Albia; daughter, Pamela (Phil)La Rue of Tipton; two sisters, Maxine Huntington of Creston and Marilyn (Bob) Fausch of Ames; nieces; and a host of friends and relatives. She will be greatly missed-especially her smile. She loved the Lord and chose to help people.
