Richard Eugene McMenamin, son of Lila Marsh McMenamin, was born at Leon, Iowa on July 25, 1936. He was baptized by the sainted Rev. Kurt Daib on Sept. 4 of that year. He received his education in the Dexter school system. He was married to Wanda Simpson in the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa on September 7, 1958. Four children were born.

Dick entered the trucking business in Dexter and later expanded his operations to feed and grain.

On December 9, 1984 Dick and his wife were received into membership with Zion Lutheran Church in Dexter.

He passed away at the Dexter Clinic Hospital on Sunday, February 2, at the age of 38. He is survived by his wife, Wanda, three daughters, Kelly, Rhonda and Antoniette; one son Richard; his mother, Mrs. Lila McMenamin of Dexter; two sisters, Mrs. Barbara Marks and Mrs. Betty Hein of Dexter; and one brother Jerry McMenamin of Chariton, Iowa.
