Stuart, IowaHarold (Hoss) Hein, 59, of Stuart, died Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at Hospice Kavanagh House in Des Moines.
Harold Hein was born March 9, 1944 in rural Guthrie Center, the son of Roy and Alice Slater Hein. He married Elizabeth McMenamin on July 3, 1966.
He was a member of Midwest and Windy Gap Buckskinners and a volunteer fireman in Dexter. He enjoyed hunting, fished and old time country music. He loved singing and playing his guitar at jam sessions around the state.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy, and one daughter, Kristi Lynne.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, of Stuart; his mother, Alice Slater Hein of Guthrie Center; two daughters, Kari Tisl of Stuart and Colleen Detjens of Beverly, Mass.; one granddaughter, and three brothers, Larry Hein and Jim Hein, both of Perry and Dennise Hein of Des Moines.
